Written from the traditional Latin text. Premiered by the Samford University Chorale in Spring of 2011. My setting of Pie Jesu explores much of the early harmonic formations in my choral music as I sought to let the text emote through contrapuntal voices, in this piece lending themselves to creating soundscapes of rise and fall.
