Growl is a rhapsody exploring the dark timbres of the low double reeds and an unconventional string quartet (viola, cello, contrabass 1 & 2).

The dark growling timbres of the work also show the instrumentation to be highly agile as it explores the full range of most of the instruments. It is written in 3 parts (fast, slow, fast) with the intention of telling a colorful story through its unique sound possibilities.
