Commissioned by the Stecher and Horowitz foundation, Piano Sonata No. 3 is my most rhythmically intricate and coloristically expansive sonata of the three. In a compact eight-minute span, the work explores the piano’s vast expressive range through bold sonorities, intricate interplay, and an unbroken dramatic arc.
