Nocturne for solo piano was written for pianist Iris Cheng. As the title shares its long lineage with other composers, I sought to depict a journey shrouded in the mysteries of night, bringing moments of color and also a bit of turbulence to the listener. A steady accompaniment and lone melody gives way to a broad, lyrical sonic expanse.
