Ad Terram was commissioned by The Juilliard School for Juilliard Pre-College. I often reflect on the beauty of nature and the fragility of our world. As the gripping effects of climate change loom on the horizon, I can only hope as so many others do, that we take the necessary steps to protect our beautiful home for future generations. When thinking of a work that would be played by youth, I wanted to make an artistic statement that would resonate with future generations of artists. Ad Terram, "For the Earth," is an 8-minute meditation to evoke a shared hope for the preservation of our planet.
