Swift for bassoon & piano was written for bassoonist Joseph Swift for a collaborative project entitled Room to Breathe. The project shines a light on composers from all backgrounds ignited by the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic and social justice.

The piece is a workout for both bassoon and piano, working the ranges of both instruments. As I do often, I seek to paint a colorful story for the listener, and do my best to create an exhilarating ride for the performer.
