Written for my dear friend Joseph Williams, my 2nd piano sonata encapsulates the very essence of emotion. Its funky, witty start gives way to a lush and evocative sonic expanse that leads the listener through and endless journey of emotive push and pull. Much like Joe's electric personality, I wanted this work to be about feeling, empathy, and all that it means to be beautifully human.
